Getting around in Lausanne

Most of the inhabitants of Lausanne use public transportation (Transports Lausannois), either buses or metros (M1, M2). Lausanne is a city built on three hills connected by three bridges, so it’s challenging, but interesting to bike.

Visitors to Lausanne receive the Lausanne Transport Card on arrival at their place of accommodation (from their hotel or guest house). It is valid for the duration of the reservation and gives free access to public transport in Lausanne. It also provides substantial discounts on the boat crossing between Lausanne-Ouchy and Evian in France.
